The department was established in 2001, to cater the needs of human resource requirements in the information technology section. Our slogan is to enrich human resource with efficient and effective manpower in IT. This department impacts the modern IT education to its students and integrated teaching programme covering both theoretical and practical aspects of IT made effective with classroom lectures , training, demonstration, illustration, Lab assignment with audio visual ads, projects , seminar, industrial tours and implant training. The inputs by the leading professionals in the field of IT services and management enable the students to keep abrist with current industry trends. Soft skills such as interpersonal communication are developed through workshop by experts.

Department has fully equipped laboratories as per AICTE norms covering latest computing hardware software and has certified structures cable networks and internet connectivity. The laboratories are microprocessor based design and embedded system labs, RED Hat Linux Open Source Lab, Advance Software Lab , Digital Electronics and communication engineering lab.

As per latest trends and requirements of IT industries, the department has expertise for all the new elective subjects, like modeling and simulation, Data Warehousing, Distributed O. S. , Management Information System, E-Commerce, Computer Graphics, Distributed DBMS and important subjects like Embedded System, Microprocessor based Design, Digital Signal Processing and Internet Technologies.

Faculty comprises of qualified, eminent and dedicated teachers. In addition to academic interaction, faculty members are engaged in research & development activities. Staff & students actively participate in national, international seminars, conferences and faculty development programmes.

The department has Information Technology Student Organization (ITSO) involved in various student centered activities like seminars, guest lectures, industrial visits and social activities.

Over the years, the department has worked very closely with the requirements of Indian IT Multi National Companies like TCS, Wipro and many more companies. Building further on our past record, the placement, industry interaction activities will broaden to cover top companies. The placement will be enhanced through industry - institute interaction for their IT manpower requirements.
